How to Use Google Gemini

Gemini (formerly Bard) is deeply integrated into the Google ecosystem. If you live in Google Workspace, Gemini is your best friend.

1. Google Workspace Extensions

This is Gemini's killer feature. It can read your emails and documents.

  • Enable Extensions: Go to Settings > Extensions and turn on Google Workspace.
  • Prompt: "Find the email from John about the project deadline and summarize it."
  • Prompt: "Look at my 'Budget 2025' Google Sheet and tell me the total expenses."

2. Multimodal Capabilities

Gemini was built from the ground up to be multimodal.

  • Video Analysis: You can upload a video file, and Gemini can answer questions about it.
  • Image Analysis: Upload a photo of your fridge ingredients and ask for a recipe.

3. Double-Check Feature

Gemini has a "G" button after every response.

  • Click it: Google will search the web to verify Gemini's statements.
  • Green Highlight: Verified by search results.
  • Orange Highlight: Contradicted or not found.

4. Gemini Advanced (Ultra 1.0)

For $20/mo, you get access to the Ultra model, which rivals GPT-4 in reasoning and coding capabilities. It also gives you 2TB of storage.
